TO THE EDITOR:
Very succinct and what a great article (Ticking Time Bombs). Isn’t it funny how the left can place blame and use devisive language and yet, the right never does that to the left? We are ALWAYS the bad guys and yes, take away the guns! The bad guys will still find a way to get them. It’s funny but a friend of mine had his gun on the deck along with some ammunition and it never killed anyone! And you are correct, are knives next? I am so tired of hearing Walz and Omar tell everyone to get meaner and to come after us. We can not have Walz for another term and Omar should be kicked out and go back to Somalia. My son was visiting me from WI and he wanted a copy of the article to share with friends. Very impressed. It is a shame we can not share this with some of our own children as they have been indoctrinated in college and if we speak up we will lose them. I commend you Bill.

TO THE EDITOR:
Words matter. Unfortunately, the media have lost public trust. Readers note contradictory statements in parallel articles. Often news stories reflect personal views more than facts. After the assassination of Charlie Kirk, the deep division in our country became glaringly obvious. What was the function of his words—to spark conversation and exchange ideas or a tool to demonize opposing views? Those questions, at this point, do not have definitive answers. Words are protected by the First Amendment. Is there a difference between stating an opinion or making a direct threat against another’s life? Our Founding Fathers considered another 10 precepts on which to build our nation. The Ten Commandments provide a guide to a kind and respectful way of life among all people. “Thou shalt not kill” is a strong moral imperative in many religious creeds. We are all sinners who can be called saints if we repent and follow Christ. Rather than trying to idolize the victim or the perpetrator, could we better serve ourselves and our Lord with a look into the mirror as God examines our hearts? An observation...words: Devil embodies EVIL. GOD is found the “good” that many try to embrace. “Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, leave the rest to God.”--sage advice from another wounded by a wannabe assassin—President Ronald Reagan.
