TO THE EDITOR:
The majority of the people telling you that the 14th amendment to the Constitution provides for “Birth Right Citizenship”, have apparently not read the first full sentence. The first sentence of Amendment XIV, Section 1 reads, “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State whenin they reside.” It is the phrase, “. . . and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, . . .”, which has been interpreted by the President, myself and many others, that just because you are standing on American soil when you give birth, when you are a citizen of another country, it doesn’t make your child an American citizen. To simplify, if your parents are not citizens, you are not a citizen. Just as if an American Citizen happens to be in France, or any other country, and gives birth, that child is not considered to be a citizen of France, but an American Citizen. But here in Minnesota, of course our Attorney General Keith Ellison has jumped on the band wagon with those who are unable to read and comprehend a complete sentence.

Congreeswoman Nancy Mace”s bill would ensure illegal immigrants convicted of sex offenses are deported or deemed inadmissable to our country. The Violence Against Illegal Aleins Act passed 266-158 on Wednesday. 158 Democrats voted against Sex Crimes of Illegal Immigrants, three of whom are from Minnesota! Betty Mccollum, Ilhan Omar, and Dean Phillips! Nancy Mace said “158 left-wing members of Congress just voted against deporting rapists, pedophiles, and murderers of women and children.” These 158 Democrats opposing the bill said it was demonizing immigrants! Just think of that, you have to ask yourself why do they hate America and the people so much, they have way too much power. These people should be ashamed of themselves and shouldn”t be allowed in our government! They are UnAmericans! Pray for these people for they don’t know what they are doing.
