Letters To The Editor

TO THE EDITOR:

Why elect a new Supervisor in Palmer Township?  New leaders often bring fresh ideas, energy, and perspectives, which can lead to innovative solutions to longstanding problems. Electing Shelly Alger-Peyton as a Palmer Township Supervisor will bring a renewed approach to issues such as technological advancements, environmental concerns, consistent road maintenance, as well as approachable, non-judgmental leadership that will listen to the citizens’ concerns that have fallen on deaf ears for far too long.  The strong leadership skills Shelly demonstrates through her personal career development and commitment to volunteering with the BLCA, Palmer Day events and numerous other community organizations will mirror her leadership duties as a Township Supervisor. Shelly’s dedication to community speaks volumes to her ability to inspire, motivate and make meaningful differences in the lives of others in and around Palmer Township. Voting to elect Shelly Alger-Peyton on March 12 will inject vitality into Palmer Township as she fosters inclusive communication, integrity, transparency and accountability. Overall, electing a leader like Shelly will contribute to the creation of a close-knit community where all citizens feel connected, supported, and valued, enhancing the quality of life for everyone in Palmer Township.

TO THE EDITOR:

Township elections are typically quiet events, but not this year in Palmer. Supervisors make important decisions affecting residents, like roads, property values, variances. Being an effective local leader requires, even demands, a broad and deep understanding of local needs, history, and regulations.  Good working relationships are required, along with an ongoing commitment to serve. Only one candidate, Steve Demeules, has that experience, history and knowledge, serving residents since 2011: four terms as supervisor,  Board of Adjustments, County Zoning Commission, TLID director and BLCA co-president.  Being an effective supervisor takes more than lawn signs, volunteering and promising to delegate work to others. On March 12 vote for Steve Demeules:  experienced, effective, knowledgeable,  and committed to serve.

TO THE EDITOR:

Term limits are required for our Presidents, why not for elected officials? I attended the Palmer Twp. meeting a couple months ago and suggested term limits. Supervisor Mike Ganz (20 years on the board) replied, “I agree with you on term limits but not for us.” Another Board Member, Steve Demueles commented his $2 filing fee was the worst investment he ever made. Why Steve, have you continued to make that bad $2 investment every three years for the past nine years? People, it’s called (Power). What does power lead to? (Corruption). Most voting places are open from 7 a.m.-8p.m. on Election Day and Election Day is the first Tuesday in Nov. Why is Palmer Twp. election held in March and voting time is 10 a.m.-8p.m.? Simple answer, less voter turnout. Just what the incumbents want. I will be voting Tues., March 12 and encourage everyone to get out and vote.
