TO THE EDITOR:

Loss of both election and personal integrity. Let me try and put a finer point on a previous letter. . . a ballot filled out by individuals who have just registered to vote, whether “election day, same day voting” or “early voting”, is not segregated from the other ballots cast by verified U.S. citizens.  This means that if the person turns out to not be a U.S. citizen, their ballot can not be removed from the pile. Prior to October 2023, and the implementation of “Driver’s License for All” (DL for ALL), if you held a MN driver’s License, that meant you were a U.S. citizen. . . that is no longer the case.  Per a U.S. news story on 3/7/2023, DL for All opens the door to more than 80,000 immigrants now being able to obtain a MN driver’s license. Every election judge is required to sign an oath, stating in part that they will, “...diligently endeavor to prevent fraud, deceit...”.   How can I, or any other election judge in the state, in good conscience, sign this oath knowing that they may be counting ineligible ballots as the documents that we are being told to use to register a person do not verify citizenship/eligibility?  And if I violate my oath, I am guilty of a misdemeanor.  [MN Statute 204B.26]
