Letters To The Editor

TO THE EDITOR:

Drag Shows in Big Lake Is this what we want to be known for in Big Lake?  Last Sunday, Lupulin staged yet another drag show.  If this were 30+ yrs ago, I wouldn’t be so concerned but “drag”, is no longer Bob Hope or Dame Edna wearing a dress and telling jokes.  Neither is it the 1993 movie Mrs. Doubtfire where Robin Williams dresses as a female housekeeper to spend time with his children after a bitter divorce.  No, today “drag”, has morphed into an instrument used to confuse and “groom” children into questioning the science that determines their actual sex.  In the past, if an event was advertised as 18+, you could have confidence that no minors would be admitted and no responsible adult would attempt to bring a child to such an event, yet during the April Lupulin’s drag event, I witnessed numerous adults attempt to bring their toddlers and even an infant into the show.  I observed what appeared to be two giddy underage girls exit and re-enter the establishment during the show.  We as a society need to protect the innocence of our children and exposure to today’s “drag”, is not the way.

TO THE EDITOR:

We wanted to thank the Becker community and beyond.  What a beautiful day we had to pause, reflect and remember all who gave their lives for our great country.  Always remember and never forget that we are one nation under God with liberty and justice for all. The Memorial Day luncheon was a huge success thanks to all our volunteers who made it happen. From the smallest  act of  kindness to the larger help it took to have this celebration.  We could not have done it without you.  There are way too many people and businesses to list individually but you know who you are.  Thank you a hundred times. A big thanks to all who came to celebrate Memorial Day.  Sincere and  heartfelt thanks.
