Why is Sherburne County still paying full price for the Northstar Train? If you bought an expensive minivan using a car loan for which you have to pay $800 a month to drive your family around, but then after a month found that it would no longer get up to highway speeds, then the following month only achieve 25 mph, would you continue blindly paying $800/month? It used to carry 7 people but one day you went out and saw that the dealer had come by and removed all but the driver and passenger seats, again would you continue to pay $800/month? Apparently only Anoka County has figured out that they are in the same situation with the Northstar Train, and in this case are smart enough, fiscally responsible enough, to discontinue paying Metro Transits the full price for the trains operating budget. While the Northstar has always under-performed from what was promised, especially during these past 3 years, ridership had dropped at one point to only 2% during the “pandemic”, and today has only rebounded to 23% of what the lackluster ridership once was, with no reason to believe that it climb any higher. So why are we in Sherburne County, with our property tax dollars, paying full price when our gallon milk jug only contains a quart?

I have had a bad experience and just want to save others in Becker from it happening to them. If you rent a storage unit from Storage Rentals of America (SROA) on Bradley Avenue on the W line of units and have been there for years, be aware they have changed the numbers on the sheds and you may be accused of being in the wrong unit and they may clear you out! I was in my unit for eight years and lost EVERYTHING from my unit. They had never called or written to warn me! I hope it doesn’t happen to you!
