Letters To The Editor

TO THE EDITOR:

Sunday night at dusk I was driving north on Co. Rd. 23 approaching Co. Rd. 16 when an SUV flew through the stop sign at 55 mph. I was just seconds from the intersection and traveling at 55 mph myself. I was driving a full size truck. If we had collided at that speed someone probably would have died. I caught up to the other driver about two miles up at the next intersection at Hwy. 25. This time she stopped. I informed her that she ran the last stop sign. She said she didn’t see it and then apologized. Of the four similar intersections that surround my home one has had at least one fatality. Another has had at least two fatal accidents, one of which I was first to find the 19 year old fatality that had been ejected. The third intersection had what should have been a fatality. All these accidents involved one vehlcle running through the stop sign at high speed. Every one could have been avoided. No one ln law enforcement wants to arrive at fatal car crashes. No one needs to die. Get off the phone or get off the road. That phone call or text is not more important that your life or anyone elses. Drive safe and enjoy life.
