Letters To The Editor

TO THE EDITOR:

As a taxpayer I’ll expect Rep. Mekeland and Sen. Mathews to work constructively with the DFL-controlled legislature to pass legislation which will benefit all Minnesotans. We are not paying their salaries to bitch and moan and be reliable ‘No’ votes; we are paying them to accomplish things for us. Gov. Walz has stated that he wants to stop taxation of Social Security income. Republicans expressed support for that last year. Make it happen. Tax rates for working class and middle class folks should be reduced; the wealthy and corporations should be made to pay their fair share. Common sense stuff! Make it happen. Democracy works best when politicians collaborate on solutions to problems rather than settle into hostile camps. Are Mekeland and Mathews up to the challenge?

TO THE EDITOR:

I would like to provide this information to Ivy Acosta and anyone else who is looking for a healthcare provider who values health freedom and views patients as individuals holistically.  New Kingdom Healthcare is my new clinic.  They do not require masks and my nurse practitioner was very kind, attentive, and I could tell she really listened and cared about me as a person.  They have locations in various places, including Albertville.  It is a smaller health provider so same day appointments can be difficult to obtain.  Hopefully, as their practice grows, same day appointments will become more easy to obtain.  You can find more information about them, including their website, by searching for “New Kingdom Healthcare” on an internet search engine.

TO THE EDITOR:

I read an article recently that stated how our society has become more ANGRY lately. If we’re honest, I’m sure many of us would attest to that. Well, I have a suggestion…How about replacing that anger with a little Christmas spirit?! If you’ve never been to the Riverside Church rendition of “A Christmas Carol” (or even if you have), I invite you to come and check it out. Not only will you rub elbows with smiling people, you’ll be able to eat tasty Christmas treats and see a wonderful show with a Christmas message.  It’s a great way to celebrate the season (and we might just forget to be angry for a while.) There are a total of seven shows from December 9-11. Tickets are free and available at www.myrc.church/christmas.
