I am writing today to bring awareness to a potentially hazardous situation. I have lived in Becker Township near Carefree Country Club for over 15 years. Monday thru Friday each week as I am coming home from work, I encounter a big problem. Quite often, people driving on the curves on 185th Avenue just past County Road 73 make a horrible decision to cross the center line so they do not have to slow down as much as they would if they stayed in their own lane. Recently I encountered drivers partially in my lane at least 6 times in less than a month. This past weekend I encountered someone who had crossed completely into my lane of traffic. Luckily I was able to pull over to avoid a serious accident. (Which is not easy as there is no real shoulder on this stretch of road) This is frightening and dangerous. One of these days there is going to be a terrible accident all due to someone's decision not to drive properly. All it takes is for those of you who do this to slow down a few miles per hour and make sure that ALL of us make it safely to our destination. If you are driving in this area, PLEASE slow down and stay in your own lane!!
Thank you,
Janelle Studeman
