Letters To The Editor

TO THE EDITOR:
Bill Morgan’s article Choosing to Stand in the Sept. 8 Citizen-Tribune was a well written thoughtful article. I stand with Bill Morgan and would have to say it is just about exactly what I have stated  and feel about the current and past politics of our country.
Political correctness is suppressing free speech and God forbid if you offend anyone! It is sad that if you make a comment on a Facebook post (like vote Red) you are called racist, fascist, Nazi and not an American, were did all the cruel hatred come from?
As they say; “If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything.”

TO THE EDITOR:
Because the microphone wasn’t working, I didn’t get a chance to thank everyone that was at the alumni luncheon. Also thanks to our wonderful and helpful committee members Ann Johnson, Teresa Warner, Marlys Kolbinger and Eileen Ramola who had the orange and black balloons and blue and white balloons and the tables with special decorations for our 100 Year Becker School Celebration. Congratulations to the Class of ‘58, sixty year reunion. Thanks to the Citizen paper for the picture of the Class of ’58 and for announcing the 100 Year Celebration.
We had many situations that were out of our hands, but hope they will be resolved. Hope everyone and more will be back next September 5, 2019, always the Thursday following Labor Day.

TO THE EDITOR:
Now that the city of Becker's reorganization is in full swing and Mr. Danielson, Mr. Cassidy and Mr. Malo have been terminated, why is the city administrator, Greg Pruszinske, and his $175 per hour consultant still in charge?
Is our current city council attempting to build a power base around themselves and him? All five council members voted in favor of this reorganization unanimously. Good people with families and children are now jobless.
What consideration was given to them before this life changing event? In the upcoming election it is time for us citizens to take control of our city government.
There are two individuals that have never served on the city council. I fully support Mr. Troy Cox and Mr. Dennis Rzeszotarski for election to our city council. They will serve our city with objectivity, you the residents in mind and have no agenda other than what is best for Becker.
Vote for Troy Cox and Dennis Rzeszotarski.

TO THE EDITOR:
I'm thankful for efforts the volunteer committee put in for the 100th year Becker School reunion & those who called and reminded others to come. I enjoyed seeing so many that I hadn't seen for years.
This is not to blame anyone but in hopes that future reunions could be improved. The acoustics in the building were beyond bad for such a large group. It was wonderful to see so many, but it would've been better to hear all they had to say. It would seem the facility could put acoustic tiles between beams and down the side and maybe some kind of fabric on the wall to help absorb the sound. There are other things that should be considered that would make it more desirable for other events also. We heard this was the second year in a row they ran out of food? A good vegetable salad would've been nice & a refund for those who didn't get a real meal?
If the powers that be aren't interested in major acoustical improvements, it may be time to look for an accommodation where they're already available, such as renting a church basement, town hall, etc. Acoustics at our age should be top priority.
