TO THE EDITOR:
I’ve been watching recent events in Minneapolis, especially the Kim Potter trial, and there’s something I don’t understand. It used to be that when the police arrested the bad guy, he went to jail and the police went back to work. Now, we put the cop in jail and the bad guys get a big settlement. Then we apologize for bothering him. Then we wring our hands and wonder why the country is in a mess and crime is rising. Heaven help us if that’s the way we think.
