LETTER TO EDITOR:

As a firefighter & Certified Medical Assistant, every day keeps me on my

toes. Last year, in one 24-hour period, I experienced the joy of helping

deliver a baby on the side of the road & the heartbreak of responding to a

cardiac arrest call. While my job is sobering at times, I love that I can

give back to the community while doing something I’m passionate about.

None of this would’ve been possible without following the advice of my

counselor & enrolling in IQ Academy of Minnesota. When I was in high

school, I became pregnant. Despite the challenges, I knew I had to graduate

high school so I could give my son the life he deserved.

Online school was the perfect way to earn my diploma while caring for my

newborn baby. The math & science classes I took gave me a head start on my

medical career. The time management skills I learned still help me to this

day.

Looking back, I can’t believe how far I’ve come in such a short period of

time. IQ Academy gave me the jump start I needed to get back on track & get

me to where I am today.
