Letter To The Editor

Letter To The Editor:

The Postal Service is ready for another busy holiday season – projecting nearly 800 million packages to be delivered.  And we could use your help!

Please keep all snow and ice removed from walkways, sidewalks, steps, porches and around curb line boxes.  Clearing snow at least six feet on both sides of curb line mailboxes allows carriers to approach and leave without backing up or exiting their vehicles.

Due to the amount of parcels we expect to receive this season, parcel runners will start as early as 6:00 a.m. as well as be out late and on Sundays.  Please ensure your pets are inside or restrained.  If you mistakenly receive misbelieved mail, please do not write on the mail piece, but return it to your mailbox with the flag up so the carrier can remedy the mistake.

As our retail lines may be long during this time of year, we appreciate your patience.  Retail services are also available 24/7 including holidays and weekends at usps.com.

Thank you for being a United States Postal Service customer.  We look forward to another wonderful holiday season serving you.

Sincerely,

Michelle Mattsen, Postmaster
