TO THE EDITOR:
In last week’s paper, Mr. Larry Sewall stated the battle cry of the DNC was “I HATE TRUMP, I HATE TRUMP."
In fact, those words were never uttered. There was, however, much criticism of Trump’s behavior and actions,
with many of those speaking at the DNC listing specific incidences for their criticism. These incidences have proof,
on video and audio, of President Trump speaking them himself.
Watching the DNC, we don't recall anyone using the word “hate” towards the president. Yet President Trump
shows his hate daily, in bullying & name calling anyone who doesn't go along with him; Very much the same name-calling
that Mr. Sewall used multiple times in his letter to this paper last week.
Larry Sewall says he wants the two parties to work together, but his words say something very different.
Labeling people "Snobs, angry ranters, Hollywood groupies, anarchists and street jackals" does not show any intention of
working together. These are bullying tactics used to sow division and unrest. They are not the words of a person seeking
harmony and common ground to make a working, wonderful political system.
Now more than ever, we need to use our voices to bring this community & country together as one.
