To the Editor:

A July 14, 2020 MinnPost article describes how approval/disapproval of Governor Walz emergency powers divides along party lines.

I was particularly struck by our own Senator Andrew Mathews (R, Milaca) position. He says his constituents want to get back to freedom. “One thousand five hundred and four (1,504) deaths is not very many at all considering the dire predictions this spring of 40,000 - 75,000.”

So Senator Mathews, are you saying, not enough people have died in order for Governor Walz to continue his emergency powers? That logic defies comprehension, and as your constituent, I disagree. Don’t tread on my health in the name of freedom.
