Tuesday, May 11, district residents will decide whether to invest $37.5 million to make improvements across all buildings — a net-zero tax increase above the current rate if approved. Many improvements are included in this referendum, so let’s dive deeper into the specific upgrades at each building.
). Primary School: A dedicated secured entrance would be added to keep our students, staff, and community members safe, existing snow and drainage issues would be addressed through re-working roof lines, acoustic issues in the gymnasium would be addressed, and the additional space in moving grade two to the Intermediate School would provide our youngest learners with the space needed to learn and grow.
). Intermediate School: A dedicated secured entrance would also be added to the Intermediate School and the existing snow and drainage issues would be addressed as well through re-working roof lines. The existing Media Center would be modernized to provide flexible learning areas, our loading dock and receiving areas would be improved, and grades 2-4 would be provided enough space to continue growing in numbers.
). Middle School: Our Middle School would see the most improvements including a dedicated secured entrance, additional classrooms to meet existing capacity needs, flexible learning areas, re-working the existing Special Education spaces, and an additional and dedicated sensory space.
). High School: All buildings, including the High School, would be given a dedicated secured entrance, but the biggest change would be seen in enhancing and modernizing our existing Industrial Tech (trades) and Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) spaces. Whether pursuing a career in robotics, engineering, or graphic design, our students would have the space to explore these paths before stepping into our communities.
