At Becker Public School District, we are dedicated to honoring and recognizing the service and sacrifices of our military families. Veterans Day is a significant occasion for us to come together as a community and express our gratitude to the brave men and women who have served our country. This year, we have planned a series of meaningful activities to commemorate Veterans Day at each school level.
Mark your calendars! Our Veteran’s Day schedule is much like it has been in the past few years. The programs are short but fully recognize the meaning of Veteran’s Day. The Robotics team will begin the day in the High School Commons at 7:30 with breakfast for all Veterans. The High School program will be held from 8:15-8:45, the Middle School will be 8:55-9:25, the Primary School program will be held 9:40-10:00 and the Intermediate School will be 10:05-10:25.
In addition to honoring veterans within our community, we would like to celebrate the recent graduates and current students of Becker Public Schools who have made the courageous decision to enlist in the armed forces. These individuals have chosen a path of service, and we commend them for their dedication and commitment to protecting our nation’s freedom. Their choice is a testament to the values and skills fostered within our schools, aligning with our mission statement: “Developing self-directed learners to thrive in a changing global community.”
By enlisting in the armed forces, these students are embarking on a unique journey that will not only provide them with valuable skills and experiences but also contribute to the greater good. We are proud to support them in their decision and stand by them as they pursue their goals and aspirations.
Through collaborative initiatives, such as guest speaker presentations, classroom discussions, and community events, the Becker American Legion Oscar Peterson Post #193 along with the auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion have helped bridge the gap between generations and fostered a deeper appreciation and understanding of our veterans’ service. Their contributions have played a pivotal role in creating a meaningful and comprehensive educational experience for our students and community.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the members of the Becker American Legion Oscar Peterson Post #193 for their unwavering dedication to honoring veterans and supporting our students. Their commitment to our community exemplifies the power of collaboration and community involvement in creating a well-rounded educational experience.
