As we step into a year filled with new possibilities and opportunities, I want to reinforce the values and beliefs that make our educational community truly exceptional. Part of this is our work toward our strategic plan. The Becker Public Schools Strategic Plan can be found on our website, www.becker.k12.mn.us. This plan was created with input from our community, staff, students, administration and school board. The plan includes our mission, which is “To develop self-directed learners to thrive in a changing global community”. The plan also shares that “We believe”:

1). That everyone is unique, has worth, deserves respect, and can learn and excel in an environment tailored to their needs;

2). That it is the responsibility of every school to provide a respectful, physically emotionally safe and secure learning environment for everyone;

3). That critical thinking and problem-solving skills are fundamental in preparing students for their future;

4). In the potential of all students to succeed in an ever-changing world;

5). In the value and importance of student involvement in activities to create well-rounded citizens.

With this plan as our guidance, Becker Public Schools is positioned to remain focused on our students and our mission. We have continued to stay focused on the mission and also on creating a positive school culture. We continually encourage and help others to do better because, together, we are stronger.

We continue to stay committed to putting our students first and our staff are dedicated to their success for the remainder of the school year and beyond. We will continue to rely on their professionalism, growth and integrity as a model for our students. We will continue to engage and provide collaborative and supportive learning opportunities for our students to obtain success. We will do this with the knowledge that our student needs are diverse and continue to grow and change, therefore, we will continue to focus on every individual student within our school.

As we begin this new year, let us continue our shared beliefs, support one another, and work collaboratively towards our common mission. I look forward to the continued support of our families and community in 2024 to achieve our mission and follow our beliefs. A great way to help is to follow belief number five and support our students who are involved in the many activities that help create well-rounded citizens.
