Clearwater History And Heritage

Many people put a lot of hours into resurrecting the Heritage Days celebration this year. There were many obstacles and issues they had to overcome but they persevered. After a Kiddle Parade and Square Dancing Friday evening spectators lined Main Street and were rewarded by viewing over 60  parade entries including nine plus royalty floats. Neighboring fire departments showed off their shiny red trucks. The Lions fed about 450 people in the Driftwood parking lot.

According to Dave Agnew, the Rendezvous Reenactors Camp had many visitors. Mark McKlib’s herb lesson on Saturday was very educational. Author Cindy Frank-Stupnik sat along the Clearwater River selling her books and two ladies from the Methodist Church sold food goodies. The Legion Club had a pork chop dinner, silent and live auctions and street dance. Also on Saturday the Fire Department and Clearwater Corners entertained.

I personally want to thank the Committee for selecting me to represent Clearwater’s History and Heritage by being the Grand Marshal.
