While Congress has reconvened in Washington, D.C., our office remains laser-focused on the issues impacting Minnesotans. During the last few weeks, we had the opportunity to meet with many outstanding Minnesotans while they were in town for various events and meetings.
Agriculture is a way of life in Minnesota’s Sixth District and a priority for our office. We were honored to be named a “Friend of Farm Bureau” by the Minnesota Farm Bureau. Whether it’s major commodities like soybeans, sugar beets, or turkey, or more specialized products like sweet corn, Minnesota is recognized as an agricultural leader. Minnesota farmers don’t just feed our state or country, they feed the world. We remain committed to supporting Minnesota’s farmers, ranchers, and producers.
We also had the opportunity to meet with Jenny Eldredge from Elk River, this year’s Angels in Adoption Honoree. Jenny was introduced to the adoption process when her sister placed a child for adoption in 1978. During that process, she noticed a disturbing lack of emotional support resources for birth mothers. This experience led her to dedicate her career to providing emotional support to mothers who have given up children for adoption. Jenny served as the Executive Director of Bellis, a Minneapolis-based nonprofit that provides emotional support to women who have given children up for adoption.
Over the weekend, we had the chance to speak at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center’s 100th Anniversary Celebration. For many veterans, the St. Cloud VA Medical Center is more than just a hospital – it’s a lifeline. We were honored to participate in this celebration and look forward to ensuring the St. Cloud VA has the resources and support it needs for the next 100 years and beyond.
