Citizen Pruner Program Training
The Sherburne SWCD has been partnering with the cities of Becker, Big Lake, Clear Lake, Elk River, Princeton, and Zimmerman on the Citizen Pruner Program since 2014. This program utilizes volunteers to enhance city staff resources when it comes to long term tree care. Volunteers are trained in tree identification, biology and pruning techniques by staff with the University of Minnesota’s Forest Resources Department. This training consists of 2 days combining an online webinar with an in-person hands on training. In person groups are limited to 5 participants and masks will be required.

Conservation Webinar Series
Join Sherburne SWCD staff each Tuesday evening at 6:30 in March to learn about ways to promote conservation in your own backyard. Topics rage from pollinators to knowing your soil. The webinar series is free of charge, but space is limited.
