Veterans Driver Program - Give someone a lift in more ways than one! Help the military veterans of Sherburne County, who have no other means of transportation to their medical appointments at the VA St Cloud or Minneapolis. Use a government provided passenger van, to pick up and transport veterans from either the County Government Center or individual residences. No special driver licensing required. A small stipend is provided to volunteer drivers. Volunteer needs to: be able to commit to driving on a routine basis; agree to driver record, fingerprint, criminal background check, and medical screenings; complete safety training. Everyday Blessings Boutique – This new store in Becker support the mission of Great River Area Faith in Action. Volunteers are needed to help with customer service, store cleaning, processing donations and creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for guests in these shops. Shifts available Tuesday – Saturday. Data Entry – Quilt Documentation Project – Help is needed with a current legacy-grant funded project. The Sherburne History Center in Becker is photographing and cataloging quilts held in private collections throughout the county for use by researchers and also with the intention of publishing a book in the future. Volunteers are needed for data entry of the worksheets filled out by quilt owners at the clinics. Project expected to continue through spring 2016.
