Car Seat Distribution Classes
Car Seat Distributions at the Sherburne County Government Center, 13880 Business Center Drive NW, Elk River. If eligible, residents of Sherburne County can receive a car seat for a $20 suggested donation. Call to find out income guidelines (Residents of Sherburne enrolled in WIC or medical assistance program are eligible, Non-Resident Children with a Minnesota PMAP (Blue Plus, HealthPartners, UCare medical assistance programs are eligible). First Steps Central MN Personal Nurses
Benton, Sherburne, Stearns and Wright County have a team of Personal Nurses who connect with families that are pregnant or recently had a baby. Our Nurses offer support and information to be the best parent you can be, have a safe, loving home for you and your baby, connect to resources in your community to get things needed for your baby, and find ways to continue your education and develop job skills. Immunization Tuesdays
Sherburne County Public Health is offering free or low-cost immunizations for children 18 years of age or younger and uninsured or underinsured adults 19 years and older in Minnesota who meet eligibility guidelines on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call for an appointment or more information, 763-765-4000 or 1-800-433-5239.
WIC (Women, Infants & Children): is for women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, recently had a baby, infants and children to their 5th birthday. WIC provides nutrition education, breastfeeding support, healthy foods and referrals to health services/community resources. *Drop-in Childcare
Need someone to watch your children while you renew your driver’s license, attend a court hearing, apply for a passport, or conduct other business at the Sherburne County Government Center? Free childcare is now available for children ages 6 weeks -12 years. 2.5-hour time limit. Hours of operation are Monday – Thursday 9am – 3:30pm and Friday 9am – noon. Parent/caregiver will be provided with a pager and must remain on premises. Guidelines and capacity limits apply.
Community Outreach
HHS staff will be out in the community to answer questions about public assistance programs and assist Sherburne County residents in applying for, or maintaining, benefits.  Come see us if you need help with Food, Child Care, Medical Assistance, Housing, Utility Disconnects, Evictions, Mental Health, Disability, Aging, and/or Parenting.  Walk ins welcome!
* In St. Cloud    Sherburne County Health & Human Services staff will be in St. Cloud at the Salvation Army  on the 2nd and 4thWednesday of every month from 9:30-3pm.
Sherburne County Health & Human Services staff will be in St. Cloud at Central Minnesota Empowerment Organization (CMCEO) on the 1st Wednesday of the month from 10am – 5pm. 
* In Big Lake   Sherburne County Health & Human Services staff will in Big Lake at City Hall on the 3rd Wednesday of every month from 9:30-3pm.
* In Zimmerman Starting in December 2022, Sherburne County Health & Human Services staff will be in Zimmerman at the Zimmerman Event Center on the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 9:30-3pm.
