Senior Friendship Circle Volunteer Leader – With over 60 participants and not enough volunteers, we are in desperate need of your help! Become a leader with the Senior Friendship Circle and make a difference in older adults’ lives. Friendship circles are designed for small groups to connect by phone conference for weekly check-in and chats. Nothing complicated. All that’s needed is a telephone! Circle Leaders only need to be age 55 or better, reside in Sherburne, Stearns, or Benton County, and be able to initiate phone calls. Foster new friendships and be a Senior Friendship Circle Volunteer Leader! (If you are interested in being a participant and receive phone calls from a volunteer to combat loneliness and isolation, please contact RSVP to sign up!)
Sherburne County Government Center Greeter – Help your local government by being the first point of contact for community members entering the Government Center. Assist in greeting patrons, directing phone calls, and answering questions. Current needs are for Wednesday AM and Wednesday PM shift, with occasional other shifts available. Background check will be required and must be able to sit at a desk for at least one 4-hour shift a week. Training provided! Precautions are in place to ensure volunteers’ health and safety.
Sherburne County Driver’s License Assistant – Sherburne County is seeking volunteers to be present during heavy public use times in the State Driver License and County Recorder service area at the Government Center in Elk River. Volunteers will be the first point of contact for those entering this area for service. Volunteers will direct customers to the correct service area and aid with completing forms and resources to accurately do so. Pre-service screening, orientation and training required. Precautions are in place to ensure volunteers’ health and safety.
