Noon Meal Assistant – Help to serve or deliver weekday, noon meals to Becker area senior citizens. It takes a short time to makes someone’s entire day brighter! Kitchen volunteers serve prepared food to diners, package Meals on Wheels and assist with clean up from 10:30 AM o 12:30 PM 2-4 times per month. (Especially needed on Fridays.) Veterans for Hospice – Fairview Hospice is seeking veterans to help honor other veterans who are nearing the end of their life. Veteran volunteers are paired with Veteran patients to provide companionship and camaraderie. Volunteers can also facilitate a final tribute to our nation’s heroes by honoring these men and women with a military pinning ceremony which provides acknowledgment of their service and sacrifices and an opportunity for reflection. One person, giving one hour of their time can make a big difference in another person’s life while impacting their own. Citizen Tree Pruner – Sherburne Soil and Water Conservation District in partnership with cities throughout the county are gathering a list of citizens who wish to be trained as volunteer Citizen Pruners. Once trained, volunteers gather throughout the year at planned events to help maintain trees on publicly-owned property. Learn about tree biology and the best way to prune each species.
