BBBS Virtual Mentor – With these uncertain times, the youth and families Big Brothers Big Sisters serve are among the hardest hit, and they are doing everything they can to keep them safe and supported. Children are needing mentorship now more than ever! They now offer virtual matching - you can attend an Info Session, be interviewed and meet your Little through Zoom! This is a one-on-one volunteer opportunity to provide friendship and guidance to a child in Central MN. The volunteer will meet with their Little 3 - 4 times a month for 12 months.
Great River FIA Friendly Visitor – A vast majority of older adults face social isolation. Help a community member by being matched through Great River FIA and provide regular visits and/or phone calls to an older adult facing isolation. It’s easy to combat loneliness, all it takes is one visit or phone call a month. Only requirement is to keep client information confidential and keep up a convenient schedule for the ones in need.
Sherburne County Government Center Greeter – Help your local government by being the first point of contact for community members entering the Government Center. Assist in greeting patrons, directing phone calls, and answering questions. Current needs are for Wednesday AM and Wednesday PM shift. Background check will be required and must be able to sit at a desk for at least one 4-hour shift a week. Training provided! Precautions are in place to ensure volunteers’ health and safety.
