Summer Weeklong Camp Volunteers - True Friends is a non-profit organization that provides camps, respite, and programs for children and adults with disabilities (learning, physical, and/or developmental). Campers participate in fun camp activities adapted for every ability level, including fishing, bonfires, music, nature, and hayrides.  Camp volunteers work hand-in-hand assisting staff and campers with these activities.  Five camp locations throughout MN.  Volunteers much be 14+. Commitment of one – three weeks at a time. Intensive training provided, as well as food and on-site shared housing.  June 1 – August 16.  Contact volunteerservices@truefriends.org.

Hospital Volunteers - Fairview Northland Medical Center in Princeton seeks volunteers for a variety of positions throughout the hospital.  Volunteers fill a variety of Greeter positions in various departments.  They also assist with clerical, inventory and delivery projects on the campus.  Most shifts are 3-4 hours on a weekly or semi-weekly basis.  Positions available 7 days a week and some evenings.  Call Jen, 763-389-6565.

Hospice Companionship (Human and Canine) – A companion volunteer provides socialization and support to Hospice clients by visiting, looking at pictures together, encouraging the client to share their memories, reading to or playing music for the client or sitting together quietly. Certified Therapy Dog visits also bring joy to patients who love animals. Volunteers may provide respite to the family taking care of their loved one at home by allowing them time to do errands, shop, go to appointments, or just have some quiet time to relax. Most visits range from 1-2 hours a week.  Call Jodi 320-252-2803.
