Becker Legion And Auxiliary Meeting 
– Is the second Wednesday of every month at 8 p.m.
 
Clear Lake Legion  and Auxiliary 
-Meets the second Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. at Palmer Town Hall. The Auxiliary will also meet at the same time. New members always welcome.

Monticello Cancer Center Offering Free Nutrition Class for Cancer Patients and Survivors
–On the second Wednesday of every month at 1 p.m. at the Monticello Cancer Center.

Knitting/Crochet Night
– Is the first and third Tuesday night of each month at Cafe Pawz, 6:30-8:30 p.m., join as your schedule allows. All ages and levels of yarn lovers welcome.  Working towards creating items to donate locally if you'd like to help.
 
Becker Lions Collecting Items To Recycle 
– items are: eye glasses, hearing aids, cell phones and printer ink cartridges. 
Collection boxes are located at the Becker Community Center (entryway) and Insight Eye care.

- Stop in at the Community Ed. office to pick up your pre-purchased calendar or to purchase your calendar for just $10.  (Hours of Becker Community Ed are 8-4 M-F call before 763-261-4506.) Becker School Conferences
-Parents of Becker Primary and Intermediate School students may begin using the Skyward Family Web access to begin scheduling 2014-2015 fall assessments and conferences on Mon., Aug. 11 at 8:00 a.m.  Each student will have a one- to two-hour to attend school with a parent.  Primary school has appointments from 11:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tue., Sept. 2 and 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wed., Sept. 3.  Intermediate school has appointments from 11:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Tue., Sept. 2 and 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wed., Sept. 3.
 
Clearwater-Clear Lake Food Shelf
 -is open Mon. 5:30-7 pm, Tues. 9-11 am and 6-8 pm, Wed. 3-5 pm and is in the brown Lions Community Building beneath the water tower in Clearwater.  We service residents of Clearwater and Clear Lake.

2014-2015 PTSA Calendars
-School District PTSA Calendars are here! Stop in at the Becker Schools District Community Ed. office  or Becker Community Center to pick up your pre-ordered calendar or purchase one for just $10 at Sherburne State Bank and Becker Community Center.   All proceeds from the calendar, will be distributed right back into the school district through the PTSA. Sherburne History Center Quilts
-‘A Stitch in Time’ quilt exhibit will be on display in the lobby until October 31. Quilts will be switched out at the beginning of September and October. For more information contact the history center at 763-261-4433 or 763-262-4433.
 
Santiago Fun Fest
-is on Sunday, August 23 at the Santiago Ballpark, starting at 10 a.m. All funds raised will go back to the community.

2014 Hog Roast & Car Show
-Show your car Sunday, September 7th at Grace Lutheran Church, Becker, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Worship at 10, food and games at 11, car judging at 12, trophy awards at 1 p.m. The event is free. For more information call Mark at 763-262-3048.
 
Computer Learning and More
 -at the ABE Computer Lab at Monticello Workforce Center. We also offer preparation for the Special Boiler’s License Examination and GED prep. All services are free and open to the public. You don’t have to be unemployed to use these services. Call to get started 763-271-3768.
 
Becker Wrestling Booster Club

Becker Baptist Church AWANA Program
 -Registration for Becker Baptist Church's AWANA Program is now starting.  The AWANA program, which runs Wednesday nights September 10 - May 6, from 6:30-8pm at Becker Baptist Church, is a systematic approach to studying God's word for children in Pre-K through 4th grade.  With small group interaction, high-energy games and deepening friendships, kids have a blast!  To find out more about the AWANA program or our other Ministries visit http://www.beckerbaptist.org, call 763-261-4202 or stop by the Fall Carnival on September 3rd from 5:30-7:30pm and visit the registration tables for more information.
 
Becker/Big Lake 20th Duck’s Unlimited Banquet

Services offered by Sherburne County Health and Human Services
 -Car Seat Distribution Classes: Residents of Sherburne County can receive a car seat for a $20 suggested donation. Call to find out income guidelines (families who are on WIC or children on Medical Assistance are automatically eligible). The next classes are Wednesday, August 13 from 1:30-3:00 PM, Wednesday, August 27 from 9:30-11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 9 from 6:00-7:30 PM, Wednesday, September 24 from 9:30-11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 8 from 1:30-3:00 PM, Wednesday, October 22 from 9:30-11:00 AM, and Monday, November 3 from 6:00-7:30 PM at the Sherburne County Government Center. -Women, Infants and Children (WIC): is a federally-funded health and nutrition education program that provides free supplemental foods to promote good health for pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women, infants, and children up to age five. Clinics are located in Becker and Elk River. Clinic dates and hours vary, and appointments are required. You will need to bring proof of identity, address, and income to determine your eligibility. The food packages are prescribed based on the nutritional needs of the participant and the age and feeding status of your children. Children in foster care or children receiving SSI or TEFRA are eligible. You or your children may be eligible for WIC.
