St. Cloud Hospital Veteran’s Recognition

Will be hosting a Veteran’s Recognition Program on Tues., May 24, 9-10 a.m. in   Hoppe Auditorium. In honor of the upcoming Memorial Day holiday, they will be recognizing veterans who attend the event. The event is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served.

 

District 742 Board Legislative Committee

Changed their May meeting from Fri., May 13 to Tues., May 24 at 7:45 a.m.  Meeting will be held at District 742 Admin. Offices, 1000 N. 44th Ave., St. Cloud. 

 

Thurs., May 19 at Rejoice Lutheran Church, 1155 Co. Rd. 75, Clearwater. Card playing and adult coloring begins at 10:30, followed by a luncheon at noon, with suggested donation of $4.50. Reservations can be made by calling Rejoice at 30-558-6851 or emailing Rejoice@rejoicelutheranchurch.org  Program for the May event will be a presentation on container gardening by Rita MCooley, master gardener from Clearwater.

 

Its root beer float time! The Clear Lake Lioness will sponsor an American Red Cross Community Blood Drive, Thurs. May 26, noon to 6 p.m. at St. Marcus Catholic Church, Clear Lake. Call Judy to schedule an appointment at 320-743-2108.

Computer and Internet Help, Tues. May 17, 12-1 p.m. Adult computer users can receive help learning basic computer operations. Contact the library to make an appointment for individualized assistance.

Photography Class, Wed., May 18, 6:30-7:45 p.m. Open discussion begins at 6 p.m. Adults and teens are invited to join. Learn to take better photographs, no matter what kind of camera you have.

Upcoming Activities at Annandale Public Library

Appraising Your Valuables, Wed. May 18, 4-7 p.m. Author and antiques appraiser Mark Moran will appraise the value of heirlooms. Moran is a veteran of the popular PBS television program Antiques Roadshow and has written more than 20 books on antiques and collectibles. The appraisal limit is 40 objects with one object per person. Please register for a time slot by calling the library at 320-274-8448. Additional guests are welcome to listen and observe. 

Artist Trading Card Workshop, Sat. May 21, 9:30-10:30 a.m. Adults, teens and children 8 and older are invited to an Artist Trading Card Workshop. Artist trading cards are miniature works of art created on a 2 ½” x 3 ½” card.
