Orphan Train Presentation at Annandale Senior Dining
Join singer/songwriter Phil Lancaster for a presentation titled Riders on the Orphan Train at the Senior Dining in Annandale City Hall on Wed., April 20, 10-11 a.m. The presentation tells the story of the 250,000 orphans and unwanted children who were put on trains in New York between 1854 and 1929 and sent all over the United States to be given away. Join singer/songwriter Phil Lancaster for a presentation titled Riders on the Orphan Train at the Becker Senior Center/City Hall on Tuesday, April 19, 10-11 a.m.  The presentation tells the story of the 250,000 orphans and unwanted children who were put on trains in New York between 1854 and 1929 and sent all over the United States to be given away. This program is sponsored by the Becker Public Library.

Join the Mayor of Becker at the Becker Public Library for coffee and refreshments on Sat., April 23, 9-11 a.m. Discuss ideas and concerns, and hear about improvements for the Becker community.

Young at Heart
The next meeting is slated for Thurs, April 21. Card playing and coloring for adults begins at 10:30 a.m. followed by lunch at noon and guest speaker addressing health topics and resources for seniors. Suggested donation is $4.50. The Stearns County Park Dept. is holding an open house to allow the public to see inside Warner Lake Nature Center in Clearwater. The open house is Sat., April 23, from 1-7 p.m. Warner Lake Park is located just off Co. Rd. 75, at 1485 Co. Rd. 143, Clearwater.

Spring is Busting Out All Over
Mel Bartholomew’s latest book, just off the press, is relevant for all gardeners. I have a copy to share with you at the gathering at 4936 54th St. NW, Maple Lake, Mon., April 18,  6:30 p.m. and to place an order at the best price for you. Plant starting: lettuce seedlings will be ready for you to transplant and to take home to nurture until ready to go into the garden in early May.  Free. We will also share planting techniques with one another in nurseries and directly in the garden.   For those of you starting seedlings; tomatoes and tax time is the answer.
 
Positive Parenting Program
Healthy family, healthy at home, a fun and informative class series to help support healthy choices for families.
