Becker Legion And Auxiliary Meeting Day Change 
Has changed to the third Tuesday of every month at 8 p.m.

Becker Lions Collecting Items To Recycle 
Items are: eye glasses, hearing aids, cell phones and printer ink cartridges. Collection boxes are located at the Becker Community Center (entryway) and Insight Eye care.

Clearwater-Clear Lake Food Shelf
Is open Mon. 5:30-7 pm, Tues. 9-11 am and 6-8 pm, Wed. 3-5 pm and is in the brown Lions Community Building beneath the water tower in Clearwater.  We service residents of Clearwater and Clear Lake.
 
Computer Learning and More
At the ABE Computer Lab at Monticello Workforce Center. We also offer preparation for the Special Boiler’s License Examination and GED prep. All services are free and open to the public. You don’t have to be unemployed to use these services. Call to get started 763-271-3768. 
 
Horseshoe Pitching

Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Meeting

Third Thursdays Group
Focuses on finding peace and hope after loss. “Strategies and coping mechanisms” are discussed each “Third Thursday”, a community program at Faith Lutheran Church, Becker. The monthly gathering is open to anyone who has lost a loved one. Participation is free and open to all, regardless of whether one has church background; no pre-registration is required. Becker PTSA
2016 Famaily Movie Series tickets are available again this year! 6 Movies for only $6 at Monticello 15 and Rogers 18 Theatres. Movies begin showing Jan. 23-Feb. 28 at 10:40 a.m. & 1 p.m. each Saturday and Sunday. The featured movies are Shaun the Sheep, Minions, Penguins of Madagascar, Spongebob: Sponge out of Water, Hotel Transylvania 2 and Home. To purchase your tickets, forms are available at school offices or go to PTSA website http://beckerptsa.weebly.com, send completed form with payment to your child’s school, Attn: Becker PTSA. Tickets will be delivered to your student. Tickets are available through Jan. 29.

Becker Boy Scout Pack 92
Hosts a cardboard and paper recycling drive. Bring all of your unwanted paper and cardboard recyclables to the dumpsters located between the Hardware Store and Food Pride from 9am-12n on the first Saturday of every month and a friendly scout will help you unload your unwanted paper/cardboard items.

The Clearwater Area Library

Great River Regional Library (GRRL) provides library services at 32 public libraries in Benton, Morrison, Sherburne, Stearns, Todd and Wright Counties. PTSA Becker Schools Read-a-thon Kick-Off
Feb. 1-25. Prizes will be awarded for TOP students. Watch for pledge and tally sheets coming home soon. The goal of the Read-A-Thon is to encourage kids to read more and have fun while raising money for programs and projects related to literacy. Challenge your child/children to read daily during the Read-A-Thon and collect pledges. The top readers and the top fundraisers will win a variety of prizes including gift cards, movie tickets, value meals, and a bike for Primary, Intermediate and Middle School, and many other items. High schoolers can earn pizza party (You are not required to earn pledges in order to qualify for prizes).

Bring Joy to Hospice Patients
St. Croix Hospice is seeking volunteers to provide companionship to individuals affected by a life-limiting illness. Companion visits are scheduled at your leisure.  Other volunteer opportunities include: vigil, pet therapy (dog), and office administrative. Story-telling, training and mentoring provided. Wellness on Wheels
Wright County Public Health offers cholesterol testing in the Wellness on Wheels (WOW) Van. The entire test (the fasting complete profile) takes about 30 minutes.  There is a $30 fee. Sherburne County Notice of Committee Vacancy

So You’re thinking about home schooling?

Annual Veterans Art Show
Scheduled for Wed. Feb. 10, 12:30-6:30 p.m., and Thurs., Feb. 11, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., in the Auditorium (Building 8) on the main campus of the St. Cloud VA Health Care System.  The show is open to the public. The Veterans Art Competition and Show is an annual competitive event that provides Veterans receiving treatment at VA facilities the opportunity to participate in creative self-expression in art, creative writing, dance, drama and music as part of their therapy, and to gain recognition for these artistic accomplishments.
 
Free Family Course on Mental Illnesses
Do you have a family member living with a mental illness? NAMI Minnesota (National Alliance on Mental Illness) is offering a free educational course that helps families gain a greater understanding of mental illness, discuss resources, build communication skills, reduce stress and find support. The Family-to-Family course will meet weekly in Sartell for 12 weeks. The course starts Wed., March 2, 6:30-9 p.m., at Unity Spiritual Center, 931 5th Ave. North. Registration is required. Sherburne History Center Winter Lecture
The next installment of the Winter Lecture Series will be held Wed., Feb. 10, at 2 p.m. The afternoon features SCSU history graduate student and former teacher Doug Breese. Breese will be talking about the Marx Brothers and their place in entertainment history. Additional lectures, featuring a variety of speakers, will be held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of February and March. The lectures are free, and all are welcome to attend.
