Becker Legion And Auxiliary Meeting 
– Is the second Wednesday of every month at 8 p.m.
 
Clear Lake Legion & Auxiliary and Sons of American Legion

Monticello Cancer Center Offering Free Nutrition Class for Cancer Patients and Survivors
–On the second Wednesday of every month at 1 p.m. at the Monticello Cancer Center. For information about these informative nutrition education classes, call the Monticello Cancer Center at 763-271-2800.
 
Knitting/Crochet Night
– Is the first and third Tuesday night of each month at Cafe Pawz, 6:30-8:30 p.m., join as your schedule allows. All ages and levels of yarn lovers welcome.  Working towards creating items to donate locally if you'd like to help.
 
Becker Lions Collecting Items To Recycle 
– items are: eye glasses, hearing aids, cell phones and printer ink cartridges. Collection boxes are located at the Becker Community Center (entryway) and Insight Eye care.

Clearwater-Clear Lake Food Shelf
 -is open Mon. 5:30-7 pm, Tues. 9-11 am and 6-8 pm, Wed. 3-5 pm and is in the brown Lions Community Building beneath the water tower in Clearwater.  We service residents of Clearwater and Clear Lake.
 
Computer Learning and More
 -at the ABE Computer Lab at Monticello Workforce Center. We also offer preparation for the Special Boiler’s License Examination and GED prep. All services are free and open to the public. You don’t have to be unemployed to use these services. Call to get started 763-271-3768. 
 
PTSA Opportunies

Becker PTSA Free Family Movie Night
-Fri. Nov. 21 at the Becker High School Auditorium at 5 and 7:30 p.m. (seating begins 20 min. prior to show time, 400 seats available). Come and enjoy complimentary popcorn and drink. Becker Band Booster Meeting

DivorceCare
-groups for adults, teens and kids. Horseshoe Pitching

Clearwater/Clear Lake Food Shelf Thanksgiving Baskets
 -will be distributed on Mon. Nov. 24 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Stop by or call the food shelf (763-558-2954) to request a basket. Sign-up deadline is Nov. 13. The food shelf is located in the brown Lions community building beneath Clearwater Water tower. Food shelf hours are Mon. 5:30-7p.m., Tues. 9-11 a.m. and 6-8 p.m., Wed 3-5 p.m.
 
Christmas Letters to Soldiers
-Area churches, organizations and businesses are gathering Christmas greeting for MN Army National Guard soldiers, MN Air National Guard soldiers and MN Army Reserves soldiers deployed over seas. From now until November 21 visit one of the many drop sites for a list of criteria, and a sample letter format. The Hub

Oakwood Church Free Clothing
-A large amount of women’s clothing was donated to Oakwood Church. Sizes vary from medium to extra large. The clothes will be available at the church Nov. 9-23. Turkey Olympics Youth Event

Third Thursdays Group
-Will Focus on Finding Peace, Hope after Loss “Strategies for Facing the Holidays” is the first topic to be offered at “Third Thursdays”, a new community program at Faith Lutheran Church, Becker.  The monthly gathering is open to anyone who has lost a loved one. Participation is free and open to all, regardless of whether one has a church background; no pre-registration is required. The group will have its initial meeting on Thursday, Nov. 20, 7 p.m. in Faith's fellowship hall, 11755 Sherburne Ave., Becker. Ashley Prentice is the keynote presenter for this initial program, and co-organizer of the series, together with Pastor Dick Wehrs. For more information, call the church office at (763) 261-5751.

SWC Christmas Bird Count
 -Sat, Dec. 20, 8am-5pm. Join Friends of Sherburne Refuge to count birds on the refuge and in the local area. Meet at Refuge HQ.
 
Upcoming events at Kelley Farm
 -A Yankee Thanksgiving. Nov. 23, 2-4pm. Visit the Kelley Farm to explore what Thanksgiving was like on a “Yankee” farm in the 1860s. Guides will lead visitors along the wooded trails to the farm yard to meet the animals. Then guests can explore the farm house, filled with aromas of a harvest celebration.
 
-Christmas On The Farm. Dec. 13-14, 2-4pm. Join a guide for a 75 minute tour of Kelley Farm including a hike along the nature trail, a stop inside the historic farmhouse and a visit to the livestock pens. Discover how families and their animals coped with shorter days and colder temperatures, and how they prepared for the upcoming holidays 150 years ago. Enjoy a horse or oxen drawn bobsled or wagon ride. 
 
-Seed Savers Exchange. Mar. 8, 2015, 2-4pm. This free program includes a presentation on how to save, store and plant seeds, then save them again, just as farmers and gardeners have done for thousands of years. The gardening expert will share insight into heirloom plants for the first part of the event. Then stay for the free seed exchange. Participants do not need to bring seeds in order to take seeds home.
