Nighttime Exploration at Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge
Join us for a free Nighttime Exploration program on Sat., Oct. 13, from 7-9 p.m. We will explore the trails at dark, learn about star observation, and view constellations through a telescope to celebrate Fall Astronomy Day! Available to the public. The program will take place at the Oak Savanna Learning Center (16797 289th Ave NW, Zimmerman) which is a ¼ mile west of the Refuge Headquarters on Co. Rd. 9. Bring your own headlamp or flashlight. Visitors are also encouraged to bring binoculars, camera, field guides, water, a snack, and wear clothing and shoes appropriate for the weather and terrain. Volunteer Bridge
Community Connect – Sign up now to volunteer at this Oct. 18 event at Elk River High School to help those in need in our community. That day those in need will have the opportunity to receive winter clothes for their families, a free meal, toiletry basics, and a chance to speak with nearly 50 organizations in one place, each with a mission to help. Representatives from employment and housing services, food shelves, shelters, childhood eye screening and human services will be on hand to name a few.
