Monticello Cancer Center Offering Free Nutrition Class for Cancer Patients and Survivors

Knitting/Crochet Night

Becker Lions Collecting Items To Recycle
– items are: eye glasses, hearing aids, cell phones and printer ink cartridges. Collection boxes are located at the Becker Community Center (entryway) and Insight Eye care.

Clearwater-Clear Lake Food Shelf
-is open Mon. 5:30-7 pm, Tues. 9-11 am and 6-8 pm, Wed. 3-5 pm and is in the brown Lions Community Building beneath the water tower in Clearwater. We service residents of Clearwater and Clear Lake.

PTSA Family Movie Series Tickets
-Six movies for only $6. The Monticello 15 and Rogers 18 Theatres are offering this Family Movie Series. Movies begin showing on Sat. & Sun. Jan. 17 through Feb. 22 at 10:40 am and 1pm. This series of six movies offers a variety of entertainment for children of all ages and interest. The tickets may be purchased all ages two and up, including parents. Part of the proceeds of each ticket will be donated to the school.
Horseshoe Pitching

Mitten Tree For Becker & Big Lake Elementary Schools
-Big Lake Lioness Club in conjunction with Riverwood National Bank in Big Lake are proud to host the Mitten Tree for Becker and Big Lake elementary schools. All items collected through December at Riverwood Bank will be donated to area elementary schools for children who may not have access to appropriate winter weather items.

Third Thursdays Group
-focuses on finding peace and hope after loss. “Strategies for Facing the Holidays” is the first topic to be offered at “Third Thursdays”, a new community program at Faith Lutheran Church, Becker. The monthly gathering is open to anyone who has lost a loved one. Participation is free and open to all, regardless of whether one has a church background; no pre-registration is required. The group will have its first monthly meeting on Thur., Dec. 18, at 7 p.m., fellowship hall, 11755 Sherburne Ave., Becker. Anna’s Tea for Widows in the Community

SHC Winter Lecture Series
-The Sherburne History Center’s Winter Lecture Series is back! The series features St. Cloud State University graduate students who will be speaking on their historical research. Lectures will be held on the first and third Tuesday of each month, January through March. The first lecture will be held on Tuesday, January 6, at 2:00 pm. It features Cathy Coats who will be speaking on “Minnesota Secret Society: The Knights of the Forest and the Dakota Uprising.” The lecture series is free and all are welcome to attend.
