Big Lake Lioness

Our Garage Sale was a success thanks to those who shopped and visited us.  Money raised from this project will go towards the sponsorship of a young lady to the Ambassadors Program in Big Lake.  We appreciate those who support the Lioness and our community projects.

The Red Cross blood drive held Monday 9/28 was a huge success. Our goal was 69 units and we had 74 donors present. A HUGE THANK YOU to all who took the time to donate. The next drive at Mary of the Visitation Church in Big Lake will be in November. Check the Red Cross website at

[www.redcrossblood.org] for the time and date.

At our upcoming October business meeting we will discuss the future of our fall/winter projects and how we can still implement among Covid-19 precautions.  Our nursing home bingo will resume when we get approval from the CentraCare facility to restart. In September we began sending residents birthday cards to wish them a 'Happy Birthday'! We'll continue with the birthday cards until the end of the year for residents at the care facility.

Our annual Halloween Dance for Options clients and families is dependent on them being open. Our Thanksgiving Gift Cards from Coborn's for area Seniors will be sent to them via USPS rather than delivering in person. Without the support of the Big Lake Legion and Big Lake Auxiliary we could not do this project. Our largest project, Shopping with Santa which funds many of our other projects, is still in discussion since the project will be based on Covid-19 restrictions at the time and our ability to do so safely.

If you are interested in joining an organization dedicated to service in their community, come visit us the second Monday of every month at the Lions Park on CR 5 in Big Lake. Social starts at 6:30 pm and the meeting begins at 7:00 pm. All are welcome to attend to learn more about this service organization.
