Big Lake Lioness
The Big Lake Lioness Club are women who take an active interest in the cultural & social welfare of the community in which they live. They believe citizens joined together can initiate & carry out programs which will make their community a better place in which to live. Our goal is to unite members of the club in friendship, fellowship & mutual understanding of our community & the world around us.
Over the summer months, Lioness members ‘take a vacation’ from their meetings & projects & this summer has been no exception. Even with COVID-19 & its precautions, the Lioness have managed to remain ‘in touch’ via email with its membership & have begun planning for upcoming projects.
On Mon., Aug. 17, the Lioness will be assisting the Big Lake Food Shelf with their monthly produce distribution at Independence Elementary School in Big Lake 4-5:30pm. Anyone may visit & receive a variety of locally grown produce. On Sept. 26, 8am-2pm the Lioness will be holding their annual Garage Sale at Lions Park on CR 5. Household items, clothes, items for men, & other miscellaneous ‘finds’ will be available for sale. Stop by & see the selection. Proceeds from the sale go towards community projects sponsored by the Lioness. Watch Community News for more upcoming Lioness projects.
Anyone who wishes to obtain more information about the Lioness may do so by contacting any Lioness member or Lioness President Sue Stang at 763-263-3052. Meetings are held the second Monday of the month at Lions Park on CR 5 in Big Lake. Social begins at 6:30 pm with the meeting following at 7 pm. All are welcomed to attend & learn more about this service organization.
