Bhs Robotics Team To Host Kickoff Breakfast

Area residents are invited to come and join the Becker High School Robotics Team Sat., Jan. 4 at the school for the FIRST Robotics kick-off.  Stay with the team during a live video broadcast as they discover the new challenges they will need to meet for the 2014 competition season.

The day’s events will begin with a pancake breakfast hosted by current and alumni team members in the high school commons area, with individual tickets at $5 and $15 per family.  The doors open at 8 a.m., and the live feed from FIRST Robotics unveiling begins at 9:30 a.m., when the team finds out what their new robot will have to be built to accomplish in the coming season.  The pancake breakfast will continue until noon.

Coach Alex Jurek invited the community to “come and watch with us as we find out what our new challenge will be.”  Attendees will also be able to meet the members of the Becker 2013 regional and state championship team, and get to know the 2014 team as well.  The championship-winning “liberty Xcelerator” robot will be on hand for demonstration during the program as well.
