Senior Social
Becker Community Center the Second Friday of every month, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Bring a snack or dish to share although not necessary or simply enjoy a free cup of coffee provided by the BCC. This event is free and open to the public.
Pickleball Instructional Clinic
Becker Community Center, Wed., March 30, 12:30-2 p.m. and Fri., April 22, 6:30-8 p.m. Learn to play one of the fastest growing sports among active older adults. The clinic is free, but space is limited. Please stop in or call the BCC to register at 763-200-4271. No equipment needed.
Health & Fitness Fair and Traveling Health Screening
Thurs., March 31, 8 a.m.-12 noon, at Whitney Senior Center, 1527 Northway Dr.,St. Cloud. At 9:30 a.m. learn how to Act Happy, our keynote speaker, Dr. Dale Anderson, inspires dramatic change in life through consciously acting the happy, healthy traits you desire. Cost is free and open to the public.
Wright-Hennipen’s Annual Meeting
Wright-Hennepin Cooperative Electric Association’s (WH) 79th Annual Meeting is Thurs., March 31 at WH’s Rockford headquarters at 6800 Electric Dr., and is free to all members. Registration begins at 4 p.m. with bingo and complimentary pork chop dinner served from 4:30-6:45 p.m. A prize drawing will follow a short business meeting starting at 7 p.m. The grand prize winner of a 2003 Chevy ½ ton 4WD pickup truck retired from WH’s fleet will also be announced. If they have not already voted online or via mail, members can cast votes for directors in Districts 4, 6 and 8. Results will be announced at the end of the meeting.
Sherburne NWR Spring Controlled Burns
Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge staff is planning a series of prescribed burns this spring to help manage the oak savanna habitat on the 30,700-acre refuge. Burns might be scheduled March through May. Each year, Sherburne conducts about 4,000 acres of controlled burns. For details, call 763-389-3323 or visit www.fws.gov/refuge/ sherburne.
Lake Maria State Park Orienteering Event
The MN Orienteering Club will leas a map and compass event suited to beginners and club members from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. March 19 at Lake Maria State Parak, off Wright County Road 111. Registration begins at 11 a.m. Bring your compass. A small map fee will be charged. Park admission costs $5 for the day, $25 for a 12-month pass. Details: 763-878-2325.

Programs at Clearwater Library
Megan Kiffmeyer, author of “Moving On,” will speak at Clearwater Public Library Wed., March 23, 6:30 p.m. Her novel is the story of a woman who through marriage becomes part of the closely bonded group of firefighters. Kiffmeyer herself is married to a firefighter. She is a graduate of St. Cloud’s Technical High School and lives in the area. Her presentation is for adults.
April is National Living Will month. At 10 a.m. on Sat., April 2, a presentation for adults on advanced care planning and assistance, as well as information on completing healthcare directives.
