Trap Shooting Team Holds On To First Place

The Becker boys and girls trap shooting team had another big week and continue to lead the Class AA conference by nearly 2,000 points.
 
Monday, Becker scored 3,204 points to second place New London-Spicer’s 2,836.5 and now lead Conference 4 with 12,768.5 points. 
 
In all of Class AA, Becker is fourth behind Pequot Lakes (12,880), Walker/Hackensack /Akeley (13,008.5) and Buffalo (13,994.5).
 
“We are holding on to fourth place in Class AA and very easily could move to third place this week,” said Head Coach Cary Rauch.
 
Becker’s top male shooters were Michael Sakry (averaging 22.50), Carter Garding (22.38), Kyle Schroeder (22.13), Ethan Quill (21.88), Tanner Hammer (21.75), Sam Somrock (21.50), Blake Sandeen (21.38), Zach Anderson (21.25), Evan Schmidt (21.13) and Mitch Soenneker (21.00).
 
Andrew Muesing of Brainerd leads all shooters with a 23.14 season average.
 
For the girls, Becker is led by Heidi Voigt (21.25), Samantha May (19.38), Maria Sakry (17.63), Claire Voigt (17.63), Karen Schroeder (17.38), McKenna Anderson (17.25) and Leah Anderson (14.75).
 
Becker’s Heidi Voigt leads all girl competitors with her 21.25 average.
 
“I like seeing lots of Becker folks on the top 25 list,” said Rauch.  Congratulations to Heidi Voigt for being the top female shooter in the conference again this week. Great job everyone.”
 
“The kids shot great this week with another strong performance,” said Rauch. “First place in our conference should be locked up.”
