BOBBY LEE OF BECKER went 4-0 in 2016 and was named Fighter of the Year at the Minnesota MMA News banquet a few weeks ago. Just last Friday, Lee won his fifth professional bout, beating Matt Marsh of North Dakota at Mystic Lake Casino.

Lee Captures Fighter Of The Year Award For 2016

Becker’s Bobby Lee recently won his sixth professional MMA fight and fourth fight on AX’s TV. Prior to that, Lee earned the Minnesota MMA’s Fighter of the Year award at their annual year-end banquet.

Lee jumped into the MMA sport almost immediately following his high school career where he dominated on the football field and on the wrestling mat. It was there — on the mat — he learned a lot of his techniques he now uses in his professional fighting line of work.

2016 was a great year for Lee as he went 4-0 including three wins with RFA.

In his first fight of 2016, Lee captured a first-round submission win over Eric Ramm at Canterbury Park during Mecca VII.  Ramm came in as a decorated amateur who had compiled an 8-2-1 record before turning pro.

Lee’s second bout was against fellow Minnesota prospect Alex Wiggs at RFA 36. It turned out to be one of Lee's most challenging fights as he and Wiggs went the distance. Wiggs was undefeated at 3-0 at the time of the fight. Lee controlled the fight on the mat — as he done numerous times while wrestling — and Wiggs didn't have an answer for Lee's floor tactics.

Lee’s next match was pitted against another unbeaten pro (3-0) in Kyle Todd. Lee displayed great footwork and speed, landing several big punches and mixing in some kicks while pummeling Todd via a first-round TKO.

Lee’s final fight of 2016 in October was set against  his third consecutive unbeaten prospect in Damion Sheehan of Iowa. Once again, Lee dominated, executing a first-round armbar to move his pro record to 5-0.

In 2017, Lee continued his upward trend when he took on 4-1 prospect Matt Marsh of North Dakota at the Legacy Fighting Alliance event at Mystic Lake Casino Jan. 20. Lee won by submission due to kimura at 3:40 of the first round.

Lee’s future in MMA fighting is bright and match-after-match, he continues to demonstrate he has the tools and the drive to be one of the sport’s biggest stars.
