Lady Bulldogs Lose By 35 To Thunder

The Becker Bulldogs girls basketball team lost a Granite Ridge Conference and section game Tuesday night at home to the Zimmerman Thunder, 74-39.

The Bulldogs had a difficult time containing Alyssa Daugherty in transition.  She scored 20 points  Tuesday after scoring her 1000th point the game before against Princeton.

Daugherty is only a sophomore.

Makayla Pool added 16 points and Naomi Hagstrom added 13 for the Thunder (12-2).

Becker was led by Renee Tripp with 16 points.

“Renee didn't back down all night to the Thunder,” said Head Coach Dan Baird.  “She attacked the basket and played hard.  Her leadership was outstanding, especially to our young players.”

Baird said his team needs to do a better job at limiting turnovers.

“We'll work hard to get better in this area,” he said.
