BECKER GIRLS cross country team placed third.

Girls Cross Country Take Third In Alexandria

Becker girls cross country competed at the Alexandria Lion's meet of champions on a beautiful day last Saturday.  
 
There were 17 full teams,  with outstanding competition, including four teams ranked in the sState coaches rankings.
 
Becker placed third with 128 points behind fifth ranked Willmar with 58 points and eigth ranked Marshall with 97 points and ahead of the team from Stillwater, which ranked at 10th at the time.
 
The Bulldogs continue to run as a team, packing nicely through the race.
 
Alli Hendrickson placed 13th and earned an individual trophy which were given to the top 15 runners. Her time was 19:36.5.
 
In 20th and 22nd were Victoria Kolbinger (19:57.83) and Lexi Dehmer (20:03.9) running strong as well.
 
Dani Nuest came in 36th (20:27.29) and Addy Kent 37th (20:31.53). Both girls had a strong finish.  Abby Nelson completed the team in 94th with a time of 22:25.08.
 
The team was excited to earn medals for their efforts and we were pleased with the way they competed with the excellent competition.
 
The JV girls placed 11th out of 16 teams.  Maddie McDonald was first runner, taking 60th (23:53.47), Karly Kowalsky in 83rd (24:38.22).
 
Tuesday the girls team took part in the Albany Purple Pride Meet. Team scores were Albany 19, Becker 49, Melrose 66, Foley 102.  
 
The girls had 4 PR times and two season best times.  Abby Nelson placed fifth (22:20 PR), Jaden Kraus sixth(22:25 PR), Megan Gregory eighth (22:28), Alli Garding 13th (23:32 SB), Tate Spinner 17th (24:23 SB), Kaylyn Wiehle 18th (24:36) and Maddie McDonald 24th (27:28).
 
The JV girls team placed third with Callie Doucette eighth (24:36), Karly Kowalsky 10th, Maddy Schmitz 15th, Kayden Westin 21st, Olivia Mateyka 22nd were the scoring runners for Becker.
 
The girls' next meet is the Granite Ridge Conference meet Tuesday at Milaca's Stones Throw Golf Course, starting at 3:30.
