Bulldog CC runners compete in Sioux Falls

Eight Becker cross country girls and one boy traveled to Sioux Falls to participate in the Nike Heartland Regional race that took place last Sunday.

Tyson Ricker ran in the open boys event and a team of girls — including Lexi Rose, Tasha Berthiaume, Ella McDonald, Olivia Babler, Bella Duncombe, Natalie Trenz, Katelyn Brower and Brooklyn Karel  — ran in the open girls event.

As a team the girls placed fifth out of 97 teams with 843 runners. There were teams from states including Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Kansas. 

Ricker Placed 62nd out of 1247 runners with a time of 16:42.4. Boys teams from Monticello and Big Lake took third and fourth.

“The girls had some great times on a nice course,” said girls head coach Trish Kealy. 

Lexi Rose ran 19:16.0 for 21st and won a t-shirt for her efforts. Ella McDonald was 24th at 19:18.9, Olivia Babler 66th at 19:50.1, Bella Duncombe 159th at 20:41.8, Brooklyn Karel 183rd at 20:51.2, Tasha Berthuiaume 214th at 21:02.1, Katelyn Brower 471st at 22:14.0 and Natalie Trenz 458th at 22:33.1.
