Bulldog boys soccer improves to 7-5

A solid week of soccer for the Becker Bulldog boys team translated into a winning record overall, as the team improved to 7-5 with a pair of wins.

Last Thursday, Becker traveled to Zimmerman and picked up a nice win, 3-1 over the Thunder.

Then, last Saturday, the team celebrated Senior Day in fine fashion with a 5-2 win over Little Falls.  Senior Oakley Esping was honored in the game and came away with a memorable moment, as he scored his first goal for the Bulldogs.

Head Coach Nick Crowley also noted that the win was the first time Becker had downed the Flyers in a contest.  The contest was all Bulldogs, as Becker took the 2-0 lead going into halftime before extending the lead with three more goals in the second stanza.

Monday evening, Becker fell to the Monticello Magic by a score of 1-7.  With the win, Monticello remained perfect in the Mississippi 8 Conference with a 6-0 record, while the Bulldogs fell into a second place tie with Cambridge-Isanti, as both teams are 4-2 in conference play.

Becker was set to host Big Lake Thursday evening, as the Hornets were coming to town with a record of 3-2 in the M8.

This coming week, the Bulldogs were scheduled to finish up the regular season, traveling to Cambridge-Isanti on Monday evening before hosting Spectrum in the regular season finale Tuesday evening.
