The Becker Bulldog boys golf team hosted a 17-team invitational Tuesday at Pebble Creek and finished in third place.
Alex Stanz led the Bulldogs with a 76. Jackson Fluck had a rough day but still finished with a great round of 79. Brandon Abrahamson captured third with an 82 and Gavin Murphy finished at 83.
Waconia won the team even with a solid 192. All four of their golfers finished in the 70s with Connor Glynn being the top golfer with a 72.

Monticello Invitational
Last Wednesday, Becker traveled across the river to Monticello to play another 17 area schools.
The Bulldogs finished sixth with a team score of 325. STMA won the event with a 297 and Maple Grove took second with a 316.
The Bulldog's were led by Alex Stanz's 75 (5th place individually), Jackson Fluck 79, Zach Stanz 82 and Brandon Abrahamson 89. (Austin Seavert 90 and Gavin Murphy 95 had non-counting scores).
Carson Wooters of STMA took first place while teammate Christian Labrador took second. James Scherwood of Annandale took third.
“Alex had some great up and downs to keep his round in the mid 70's on a day that he struggled with his driver,” said Head Coach Dan Olson. “Jackson played well and had one big number that kept him above his normal average.”
Olson said Zach Stanz had a few holes that hurt his round and Abrahamson was struggling with his putting.
“All things considered, a 325 on a tight course in windy conditions is not that bad for our first meet,” Olson said. “While I believe we were 10 strokes higher than where we should be as a team, I saw a lot of good shots that will come more easily as we get into the swing of our season.”
