The Becker Bulldog wrestling team took on two teams in a triangular meet at Staples Jan. 23. Becker beat Frazee 46-20, but fell to Staples Motley — ranked second in 1A,  21-48.

Becker vs. Frazee

The first win for Becker was from Jacob Williams (107), who beat his opponent in a 6-4 decision. Rylan Kujawa (121) took the next win with a 16-0 technical fall. Bennett Kujawa (127) beat his opponent in a 20-3 technical fall. Tyler Hall (133) won his match in a 13-6 decision. Brayden Boots (145), Grady Muellner (152), Landen Kujawa (160), and Owen Angell (172) all beat their opponents by pins. Aiden Golley was the last Becker wrestler to win a match after his opponent forfeited.

Becker vs. Staples Motley

Only four Becker wrestlers managed to beat their Staples Motley opponents. The first win for Becker was Bennett Kujawa (127) with a 12-3 major decision. The second win for Becker was Brayden Boots (145) with a 16-1 technical fall. The third win for Becker was Landen Kujawa (152) with a forfeit from his opponent. The last win for Becker was Owen Angell (172) with a first round fall. 

Quadrangular

On Friday the 24th, the Becker Bulldog wrestlers competed in a quad against Little Falls, Watertown Mayer, and Willmar. Becker was only able to beat out one of those teams during this meet.

Becker vs. Little Falls

Odin Duncombe (107) was the first match of the night and he beat his opponent in a 18-3 technical fall. Next up was Jacob Williams (114), who defeated his oppressor in a second round fall. Bennett Kujawa (127) won over his opponent in a 20-4 technical fall. The next pin would come from Jake Rosenow (139) after he took out his opponent in a third round fall. Brayden Boots (152) would go on to beat his opponent in a 18-3 technical fall. Landen Kujawa (160) defeated his opponent in a 12-2 major decision. Owen Angell (189) and Logan Carrington (215) won their matches by pins. Final score was Becker 43, Little Falls 29.

Becker vs. Watertown Mayer

Odin Duncombe (107) beat his opponent in a technical fall. Jacob Williams (114) defeated his opponent in a 10-3 decision. Brayden Boots (145) won his match in a 2-0 decision. Landen Kujawa (160) won his match in a 21-2 technical fall. Owen Angell (172) won his match by default due to a forfeit. Aiden Golley (285) beat his opponent in a third round fall. Final score was Becker 28, Watertown Mayer 35.

Becker vs. Willmar

Jacob Williams (107) defeated his opponent in a 5-2 decision. Bennett Kujawa (127) beat his opponent in a 19-2 technical fall. Tyler Hall (133) won his match in a first round fall. Landen Kujawa (160) defeated his opponent in a first round fall. Another first round fall was won by Owen Angell (189). Final score was Becker 26, Willmar 39.

Quadrangular

The Becker Bulldog wrestling team competed in a quad, Jan. 30,  against Cambridge-Isanti, Totino-Grace, and Zimmerman. The Bulldogs destroyed the competition with a first place win overall.

Becker vs. Cambridge-Isanti

Jacob Williams (107) beat his opponent in a 6-3 decision. Boston Kuschel (121) and Nolan Jurek (127) defeated their opponents by technical falls. Kuschel in a 15-0 technical fall and Jurek in a 18-3 technical fall. 

Bennett Kujawa (133) took his opponent down in a first round fall. Tyler Hall (139) beat his opponent in a 19-4 technical fall. Jake Rosenow (145) won his match in a 13-9 decision. Landen Kujawa (160) and Owen Angell (172 won in second round falls. Final score was Becker 39, Cambridge-Isanti 25.

Becker vs. Totino-Grace

Jacob Williams (107) beat his opponent in a first round fall. Rylan Kujawa (114) also won in a first round fall. Boston Kuschel (121) won his match in a 20-5 technical fall. Nolan Jurek (127) took out his opponent in a first round fall. Bennett Kujawa (133) defeated his opponent in a 9-1 major decision. 

Tyler Hall (145) and Brayden Boots (152) won their matches by technical falls. Hall by 17-1 technical fall and Boots by 18-3 technical fall. 

Landen Kujawa (160) and Owen Angell (172). both beat their opponents by pin. Final score was Becker 49, Totino-Grace 24.

Becker vs. Zimmerman

Jacob Williams (107) took out his opponent in a 14-4 major decision. Rylan Kujawa (114), Boston Kuschel (121), Bennett Kujawa (133), Landen Kujawa (152), Kaden Nicolas (160), and Logan Carrington (215) all won their matches due to their opponents forfeiting. 

Nolan Jurek (127) defeated his opponent in a 13-4 major decision. Tyler Hall (139) beat his opponent in a second round fall. Brayden Boots (145) won his match in a 15-0 technical fall. Owen Angell (172) took out his opponent in a first round fall. Final score was Becker 61, Zimmerman 12.
