The Becker girls tennis team won a pair of matches last week, while falling to the Cambridge-Isanti Bluejackets, 5-2.
Becker started out with a win over Princeton, 6-1.
The Bulldogs swept the doubles matches, with Ali Groskreutz/Payton Enerson teaming up for a 6-2, 6-3 win at #1, followed by straight set 6-2 wins from Chloe Spear/Faith Bass at the #2 spot. Emily Huffman and Tess Brown blanked their opponents 6-0 twice in the #3 match.
In the singles matches, Ava Duncombe was a 7-6, 6-3 winner in the top match, followed by Lauren Croal’s 7-6, 2-6, 10-3 win in the second. Gracie Conzemius (6-2, 6-2) rounded out the victory for the Bulldogs in the #3 singles match.
Becker also downed Moorhead by a similar 6-1 score as the Bulldogs scored the win over the Spuds.
Duncombe and Croal were again victorious and were joined by Arica Stah, who won in straight 6-1 sets in the #4 singles match.
In doubles play, the three same duos were again winners, with Groskreutz/Enerson battling a very good Spud tandem, ultimately winning 7-6 (2), 4-6, 10-5.
In the 5-2 loss to the Bluejackets, Becker played well but ran into a veteran squad in the M8 battle.
Conzemius was the lone singles winner in the #3 spot, 6-1, 6-2, while Huffman and Brown teamed up to win the #3 doubles match, 6-2, 6-2.
