The Becker Patnode 12U girls took first place in the Tier III Fall state fast pitch softball the weekend of Sept. 30 in Becker.
Patnode’s team won against some good programs such as the Mankato Peppers Orange (consolation champions), Woodbury Herrig (runner-up) and Hudson Susa (consolation runner-up).
Saturday, Becker beat St. Paul Highland Gold by a score of 6-3 in the semi-finals, then beat Woodbury Herrig 17-5 in the championship game. Patnode’s girls hit the ball in the last inning for 18 minutes.
Maddie Sherman and Jaimie Cook were Patnode’s aces on the mound as they each pitched great tournament games.
The team consists of Maddie Sherman, Jaimie Cook, Nevaeh Gardner, Emily Meyer, Ellie Gallus, Hannah Bartlett, Kaylyn Patnode, Norah Fitzpatrick, Payton Enerson, Lauren Croal, Kennedy Drehmel and Allison Groskreutz. The team is coached by Ben Patnode, Mike Fitzpatrick and Erik Sherman.
