Memorial Services were Wed., Dec. 23 at Becker Baptist Church in Becker for Scott P. Gretsch, age 43, of Becker who passed away on Thursday as a result of a hunting accident. Rev. Rob Olson will officiate and burial will be in Our Lady of the Pines Cemetery in Nevis at a later date. Visitation was Tues., Dec. 22 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Becker.
Scott was born December 18, 1971 in Albany to Ronald and JoAnne (Beckers) Gretsch. On February 17, 1995 he married the love of his life, Stephanie Weiss at St. Henry’s in Monticello. Scott grew up in Monticello and had resided in the Becker area for the last 15 years. He worked as a Director of Community Bus Sales for Hoglund Bus and Truck Co, had been with the company for over 20 years. He was also a member at Becker Baptist Church.
Scott was a charismatic person that found great joy in many things. He loved entertaining, traveling, music, attending concerts, cars, motors and buses.
He loved spending time with people especially his family at the cabin on Spider Lake in Nevis. He could often be found boating, fishing and tubing. He also enjoyed working on projects with Ben, in the shop. Scott will forever be remembered as humble, big hearted, fun-loving and most of all an inspiration to all that knew him.
Scott is survived by his wife, Stephanie of Becker; children, Kaitlyn of Bemidji, Sara of Bemidji and Ben of Becker; parents, JoAnne of Wayzata, Ronald of Litchfield; mother-in-law, Colleen Weiss of Nevis; and sister, Jennifer (Andrew) Hutchins of Maple Grove; and grandpa, Walter Beckers of St. Cloud. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and father-in-law, Tom Weiss.
