Myrtle May Stevenson

Myrtle May Stevenson, 85, of Elk River, MN died Sunday, July 19 at Guardian Angels in Elk River.
 
Myrtle was born February 7, 1930 in Rapid City, South Dakota to Harold & Dorothy (Rogers) Stabelfeldt.  Myrtle grew up in the Rapid City area. She was united in marriage to William “Bill” Stevenson on December 24, 1949 in Des Moines, Iowa.  oThey lived in Omaha and Norfolk, Nebraska, and Des Moines, Iowa, before moving to south Minneapolis and then to rural Elk River.  
 
She worked for Gopher News for 20 years and was a mother and homemaker. She is a member of Central Lutheran Church in Elk River where she was active in the quilters club, birthday club. She was also a member of the Big Lake American Legion Auxiliary.  Myrtle loved to spend time quilting, crocheting, and sewing clothes for her children and grandchildren who she loved very much. She also enjoyed spending time in Spearfish, South Dakota.
 
Myrtle is survived by her nine children: Robert (Deb) Stevenson of Little Falls, Dorathy (Greg) McGuiggan of Elk River, Sharon Hansen of Elk River, Billie (Robert) Evenson of Otsego, Susan (Calvin) DeMarre of Elk River, William (Cathy) Stevenson Jr. of Princeton, Helen Jean (Todd Jagodzinski) Stevenson of North St. Paul, Bonita Stevenson of Elk River, Bette (Patrick) Allen of Elk River, seventeen grandchildren; Josh Stevenson, Greg McGuiggan, Mike McGuiggan, Tim Evenson, Scott (Tami) Evenson, Joie (Jeff) Beltrand, Mike DeMarre, Gina (Darron) DeMarre, Angela (Terry) Hanson, Stacy (Brandon) Lindberg, Kori Stevenson, Sarah, & Melissa Stevenson, Samantha (Ben) Juntunen, Benjamin & Shannon Allen, and Haley Caswell; Twenty great grandchildren: Amber, Kayla, Riley, Chase, Ashlynn, Bailey, Paige, Claire, Cate, Brady, Grace, Ella, Jake, Matt, Jordyn, Jazmin, Andrea, Alexis, Destiny, EvaMarie, and Jaylin; and two great-great grandsons, Mason and Liam.
 
Visitation is 10 a.m.Noon, Monday, July 27 at Central Lutheran Church in Elk River. Funeral is noon Monday, July 27 at Central Lutheran Church in Elk River , 1103 School Street, Elk River.
